I'm no theatre critic but I had to make this post about a play I saw today named Otieno. It was simply the most atmospheric, engaging and heart twisting play i have ever seen. Being skeptical at first, Southwark playhouse's location in arches beneath London Bridge station proved to be exceptionally dramatic. Clever, directed low lighting adds a sense of isolation and forces the viewer to be utterly immersed in the events unfolding.

The casting too was superb, with the powerful characters of Otieno and Ian coming across especially convincingly, so much so that I felt a little nervous when seeing them at the bar afterwards. The script is an original piece that revolves around the time of the recent Zimbabwean elections but does well to avoid a perhaps clichéd plot line based on the nasty particulars of Mugabe that we are now often familiar with.

I've never written about a play before but this is simply too good to miss! The tickets are very reasonably priced (£8-£18) and the location is easy to get to (about 2min from London Bridge station).

Our work iPad arrived today and I called up Orange to sort out the SIM activation. All of a sudden I was being asked for my birth day, home addresses, employment status etc. Turns out that although they offer daily data plans for the iPad, it is still billed as a contract although their advertising implies otherwise. Eight years after leaving Orange whilst being a high paying customer (>£65/month) it seems that again I have been misled, but at least not over charged as I'll be taking our business elsewhere.

I always forget how to do this yet need it for my ideal dev environment. Just found a video/short explanation which shows you how to to it:

    http://video.vmdigest.com/video/VMWare-Port-Forwarding-with-NAT

    Quoting the video:

Jose Luis Loya Cabrera wrote: 1.- Check for the ip address of the VM machine.
•--a) Assuming that your VM machine is linux. You can get that ip by just writing "ifconfig" in your vm_machine terminal.

    2.- Open the Terminal.app

3.- Write in the command line:
     •--a) sudo vim "/Library/Application Support/VMware Fusion/vmnet8/nat.conf"
•----enter your password if is asked
•----scroll down until you see [tcpincome]
•----press 'i' to enter INSERT mode (that means, to write :p )
•----Then write the following (this will forward your port)
     •-------80 = virtualmachineIP:80 (for example: 80 = 192.168.22.113:80)
•----press 'esc' to exit INSERT mode
•----write in the command :w! (this will save the file)
•----write in the command :q (this will quit vim)
     •--b) sudo "/Library/Application Support/VMware Fusion/boot.sh" --restart

Now your port is succesfully forwarded :D.
